What it costs
Three specifications, all fixed in writing
Supply and fit, including old bath removal, plumbing, tiling to the wet area and waste removal.
Compact walk-in bath
From £4,200
Short 1200–1500mm walk-in bath with an inward or outward opening door, low step-in, thermostatic anti-scald filler and tiling to the wet area. Fits the footprint of a standard bath.
Best for: Homeowners who still want to soak but can no longer climb over a bath edge.
Walk-in bath with seat & shower
From £5,400
Deeper soak bath with a moulded seat, integrated grab rail, shower riser and screen so it works as a seated shower too. Non-slip floor and full-height tiling included.
Best for: Households where one person needs assisted bathing and others want a shower.
Assisted / carer-access bath
From £6,800
Wide-door or powered-seat bathing solution with clear carer access both sides where the room allows, reinforced rails, level flooring and anti-scald controls throughout.
Best for: Carer-assisted bathing, and Disabled Facilities Grant funded adaptations.
Why a walk-in bath
Keeps the bath, removes the climb
For a lot of people a shower isn't the answer — they still want to soak, safely.
Step-over drops from around 500mm to roughly 100–150mm — the single biggest cause of bathroom falls removed
Moulded seating means you bathe sitting down rather than lowering yourself to the floor of a bath
Thermostatic anti-scald controls hold the temperature so it can't run hot unexpectedly
Integrated grab rails and non-slip flooring fitted at the same time, not bolted on later
Keeps a proper soak — important for arthritis, fibromyalgia and post-surgery recovery
Often fits in the footprint your existing bath already occupies, so no room re-plan needed

Types of walk-in bath
Four ways to make bathing safe again
We specify around the person using it — seat height, door side, rail position and tap reach.
Compact walk-in bath
1200–1500mm with an inward-opening door. Fits where a standard bath already sits and leaves more floor space in a small bathroom.
Deep soak seated bath
Shorter but deeper, with a moulded seat so you sit upright and the water reaches shoulder height. The most popular choice for arthritis and mobility pain.
Walk-in shower bath
Walk-in bath with a riser rail, screen and shower valve so the same room works for a seated bath and a standing shower.
Carer-access bathing
Wide-door or powered-seat solutions with clear access for a carer, reinforced rails and level, non-slip flooring throughout.
Honest comparison
Walk-in bath or level-access shower?
We fit both, so this is a straight comparison rather than a sales pitch.
