Accessible shower upgrade in Coleshill — case study

We recently completed this accessible shower upgrade in Coleshill for a customer who was struggling with the height of their existing shower tray. The goal was simple: make the shower safer and easier to get in and out of, without making the bathroom look clinical or dated.

What we changed

The existing shower had a raised tray that was becoming difficult to step over. We stripped the old enclosure out and fitted a lower-level quadrant tray with a smooth, low threshold, then paired it with a sleek chrome-framed enclosure to keep the room feeling open and bright.

  • Lower-level shower tray for easier step-in access
  • White marble-effect wall panels — easy to clean and no grout lines
  • Chrome grab rails on both sides for extra support
  • Fold-down shower seat, tucked away when not needed
  • New thermostatic shower and modern enclosure
  • Practical, low-maintenance finish throughout

Why accessibility doesn't have to look clinical

A lot of people worry that an accessible bathroom will look like a hospital bathroom. It doesn't have to. By using marble-effect panels, chrome fittings and a coordinated white tray, this shower still feels like a premium bathroom — just one that happens to be safer.

The panels are especially useful for accessible showers: no grout means no mouldy joints to scrub, and the wipe-clean surface keeps maintenance to a minimum.

Who this kind of upgrade suits

This setup is ideal for anyone finding their current shower tray too high, or anyone planning to stay in their home longer and wants to future-proof the bathroom. It's also a popular option for people with reduced mobility, balance issues, or conditions like arthritis and MS.
